Scouting in Romania

The Romanian Scouts celebrated their centenary in 2013 and today over 4000 members and volunteers are active in 80 groups spread across the country with a Youth Programme adressing children and young people aged between 5-24.

Nocrich Scout Centre – H.C. Habermann is the first scout centre of the Romanian Scouts and it was established in 2010 in Nocrich, a village 30 km away from Sibiu. It is a place that belongs to everybody, a place of meeting for scouts from Romania and abroad who come together to learn from each others culture but also to discover the multicultural area of the region, get involved in the local community or old crafts like pottery and ceramics. The centre is open all year round and it is run by a team of long and short-term volunteers from all around the world.
